Refugees from a nearby five-star hotel, they arrived at Kandy House in despair. They had wanted a small, intimate place to stay but their travel agent had carelessly misplaced them! "We were so lucky you had rooms free. As a consequence our stay in Kandy wasn’t the disaster we thought it would be but instead an utter delight. We love your Black Rajah suite
and, of course, your lovely staff."

The Scottish architect and designer couple stayed in our deluxe Monkey Puzzle room. "We hardly scratched the surface of the it’s-a-swing-thing,” they wrote of our traditional swing-hammock, which is nestled in the garden foliage close to their room. However we got this update later:
“In some corner of the Kandy House our baby was conceived!"
